Nice Formula! BTW - I actually like the Standard interior better in 79. Only wish my car was AC delete as well. Good Luck with the Sale!

Yup, interesting.

IF it was a GTO for example, most would WANT IT to be a non-A/C car with the “open fresh-air” option.

I wouldn't want A/C.... It just gets in the way on a 2nd gen.

Uh huh, fast car in '79. Saw a vintage road test in a old HPP where a Formula ripped 15.0, which was as fast as a std 400 GTO, SS396 Chevelle, or a 383 Road Runner ran in 1969.

That was Jim Mattison's car. It was at the T/A Nats this year. Supposedly the only Pontiac 400 engine/4-speed trans that got sold in CA in '79 (all others were Olds 403).

It had a 4 sale sign at the Nats, but I don't remember what he was asking...

How did they swing that? There hasn't been a 400 powered Pontiac sold here since '76.

The date of the auction was 10/8 not 9/8 in Dallas.

I tried to buy that car about 10 years ago but could not maintain contact with the then owner. IIRC, it was ordered and invoiced to Mecham Pontiac in AZ. and shipped to a Calif. dealer. It is doc. as the only solid body color 79 Formula too. Sold at BJ a few years ago for 7-8K. Member here (lumarkhood10th) bought it after that and sold it to Mattison. At 30k Mattison made a serious profit.....
