Question My guess: Paper Loop-Hole

Probably the SOP “paper shuffle” used in 1976 through 1979 to obtain an CA exempt vehicle to title in CA.

Example: Selling it new in AZ (to a CA Dealer) as used car sold through a dealer network like the Macho T/As sold in California w 400 Pontiac motors.

AKA: Loop-hole.

I know many GMs were Olds powered in CA because they were cleaner running for the CA emissions, but no 400s after '76 ?

That car is gorgous!.....these cars need more respect,I have a survivor22k mi. 79 W72 WS6 TA,and I'd love to have a 79 Formy W72 survivor.
Wonderfull color, people dont realize how nice and quick these cars were for their day...I do,....whenever I get the chance to drive my 79 W72.
Good luck bud, stay firm on your price,...well worth it.

Winters over. The formula is back on the road again. Maybe I'll make it to 16,000 miles this year

At 30k Mattison made a serious profit.....
Lumarkhood purchased the car from me, i bought it from the guy who bought it at BJ. I found the sheet still stuck in the rear seat springs, and smiled when i saw Mecham ordered and delivered to Bob Warren Pontiac in Manhattan Beach. I'm certain the guy who ordered the car knew someone at Mecham and bootlegged it in state with some miles like previously stated with Macho's. Total sleeper order, no D80 or ttops guy new what he wanted. Glad to see it go to Mattison, i couldn't give the car away when i had it listed here for months.

Apologize to the OP for the hijack, just stumbled across the thread when it got bumped from last year.

Why not try hanging onto it until the economy improves ? Damn nice car, and it would probably fetch more then -

if it would stop raining I might even drive my car this year.
