Default 1972 Formula Stipes

I have a Wilderness Green formula and it came with stripes. I can't find on the PHS what color the stripes are supposed to be. Ames shows black, white and gold stripes for that year. Does anyone know which stripes would have been on the car with Wilderness Green?

The 72 contrast section of the order sheet will show they would be white for your car. A Truely Stand out car, and a rare one at that ! What color interior?

Gold stripes on a WG 'bird would be correct.

Sounds like a heck of a nice HO Formy, BTW!

I also think gold is what you want, but I don't have chart. My silver has black ones and I really like them. (They reflect gold in headlights at night). Please post how happy you are with repro stripes. I will be repainting driver door at some point (bad repair paint on it) and replacing stripe on it.

here is the link to the '71 charts in this post. Seems logical that the '72 colors would have been similar but I've never seen or found a chart from '72

What is really interesting to me is 71 silver got blue and 72 got black (apparently).

The silver with black stripes makes more sense to me since the decals on the hood of mine were black and my interior is black. I bet there were probably ways to get them to vary the colors if you ordered the car new, or better yet just bought the car new and had the dealer install stripes of your choice at delivery.

Posted this one in the past, but here you go, Brew. Too bad it's in B&W . . .

Dig those snazzy whitewalls and wheel covers . . .

I like the stripes, I'd totally have them on mine if I had one. Originality is one thing, match the decals to interior or trim otherwise.

4birds I don't have any good pictures, and the car is apart. when I got it T/A front sheet metal was on it, but I had all the correct parts to put it back together. It looks like the stripe just runs along the belt line? I thought they looked similar to the 69 Judge stripe.
