Year One cast 17x9 Honeycombs
Just got this off my facebook page. I'm friends with Year One on there and my jaw dropped. Looks pretty damn cool to me.

That's a great looking wheel. Please post the info if you can get pricing and when they're available.

Range anywhere from 3000.00 to 5000.00 for complete sets with caps and lugs

Love the design, and much closer to the original, but I think a narrower wheel would look better. IMHO

These cast Honeycombs look waaay better than their billet ones, I like them, to bad Pontiac didn't alloy cast them originally.
There's a pic of a RALLY II rim too...says coming soon and it looks better (more accurate) than the Wheel Vintiques rim, but the cost of these wheels...crazy.

Those are the billet versions. I'd be willing to bet these will run about $750 for 4 wheels. These are in the same line as the cast snowflakes.

Hmmmm....my hope is maybe they'll offer these in 18". To get the big C6 brakes behind them would require at least 18's......they do look beautiful though. Are we sure those in the pics are 17?

1973T/A....are you sure? They arent on the website yet, and if they are really cast theres no way they are $4000.....there isnt a cast set of wheels priced at $4000 on the planet I dont think. You might be looking at their billet honeycombs which have been around a while. If you really want to find out call them up.

Well they look incredible and I take my hat off to Year One ^5 as I didn't have the balls to cast the wheel over seas, inventory the stock, and hope in this economy that I'd sell them....
Congratulations boys you hit that one out of the park!!!! |

I think they look great. 17x9 is perfect in my book. Wide enough to fit a 275 or 285 tire under the fender without mods and not too blingy. I wonder if they're taking pre-orders?
Kind of curious as well if they'll offer different colors like they do with their snowflakes.

whoa! that DOES look MUCH better then the 'earlier' attempts, which kinda looked more like a soccerball from the side then a wheel.....
looks great, but not as good as the ones on -rrrrr forgot his name again, sorryyy! - a member's ride, a green formula, believe he had a hpp article on him or e pontiac enthousiast? was on the NATS iirc. those were chromed or polished, and looked friggin STUNNING. as far as year one, i keep being in love with these wheels, absolute killer imho: the only downside/negative side i see from wheels 'like this', i guess that's 'cause of the CNC-ing, is they are SO DARN FLAT. i mean okay you can buy one with a deep 'dish', but the shape of the wheel in itself is so FLAT. there's no 'depth' in all regarding the shape of the centre, just a tiny bit at where the lug nuts are. if I compare that to f.e. torque trusts, dispite them having a way different shape, those are at least 'shaped'......I think those wheels would be a lot better, even if i kinda like em (a lot), if they had some 'depth' in them.....but I guess that's the flawside of CNC-ing. if those wheels were 'cast' (making a 'depth' possible) they'd quite probably be WAYYYY more expensive....and they are quite expensive already Last edited by cliffhanger; 12-01-2010 at 12:56 PM. |

Thanks bud that was my Formula down at the Nationals, however the reproduction costs were simply to high to justify production (you had to be as nuts as me to own them LOL).... I'm currently building/proto-typing a set of 18" Carbon composite Honeycombs that will be a three peice construction method with Aluminum bands allowing pretty much what ever offset combo's one desires (as seen on my avatar or if you search google images for "project WarPath") Last edited by Tazzz2; 12-01-2010 at 03:43 PM. |

i cannot imagine them having the tooling to stamp new centers, unless they bought up some originals.
