You can file that edge right off and it'll be fine.
I've repaired cams with little imperfections like this with no problems at all.
Just follow the edge for a little distance so it's not a big spot right in that area.

I had forgotten about this. I may call them and see if they'll exchange it just so I can sell it with a clear conscience...If not, I'll keep it until I have a use for it. I don't think it would cause a problem myself.
