69 Firebird exhaust question
My bird has a 350 with single exhaust. I would like to have dual exhaust installed and was wondering if I should use a different exhaust manifold. Thanks

If you are just changing to duel exhaust , I wouldn't change the exhaust manifolds. There's always a good chance of breaking one of the manifold bolts. Then a small job becomes a big job.

Lots of options here. Do you really need a dual exhaust that will reduce your ground clearance, or would a single muffler exhaust work just as well?
I ordered a Flowmaster 17104 kit with long branch 69 manifolds. https://www.jegs.com/i/Flowmaster/38...oaAlZsEALw_wcB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qylcR_ICogg |

The stock dual exhaust on first gen birds wasn’t quite true duals. There was a small resonator under each side of the rear seat and then there was a single large muffler with two inlets and two outlets that was mounted sideways between the diff and fuel tank. Gardner does a great looking and sounding repro system and for half the price Waldron does a good quality original style system also.
Most aftermarket systems are true duals but this as mentioned reduces ground clearance and imo looks lousy

Thanks for all the replies, I like the idea of staying with the stock type exhaust.
