1969 Battery Tray Installation
In my quest to get my car track ready and passing tech, I've got some small nagging details that I've got to button up. The most glaring being the lack of the battery tray and subsequent hold-down.
I purchased a repop tray and hold down but have found that in installation, it's not coming together as I would expect. The tray mounts just fine to the nut-certs on the core support and also lines up with the mounting holes where the tray sits. However these two areas don't line up height wise. If the tray is mounted to the core support in the correct location there's about an inch to inch and a half gap to the shelf that the tray should sit on. This leads me to believe there is likely a vibration damper of some sort that takes up this space. I can't find anything listed in catalogs however. Does anyone know what part I'm missing here? Do I just use one of the standard threaded doughnuts used throughout the front end of the car? Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks!
