Default 72 conv. trunk color?

I've read past threads and am still not sure what the color is for my 72 convertible trunk. I asked The Parts Place and they said black grey. The forums here say for a hardtop aqua black. Others say it depends where the car was made. Anyone have a recent definitive answer? Thanks.

My 71 Convertible is Black/Gray. My 72 Hardtop is Aqua/Black. Can't say with 100% certainty, but I would think any 72 would be Aqua/Black.

OPH will likely know. Maybe PM him if he doesn't see this thread?

Thanks. That's what I'm seeing. I bought and painted it with Parts Place grey black and don't think it's correct.

Here are two pictures of my 72 convertible. The third is of my 68. You can make your own guess on what color the spatter is. It almost looks to me to be MAYBE a robins egg blue, but it could be grey. I wouldn't call it aqua. The 68 LeMans is about the same color. Only difference is the 72 has definite "spots" of color where the 68 is more slung on "strings" of color. I used black/aqua when I did my 69 convertible and it was a much darker background and obvious aqua on the spatter. Who know if it was a true reproduction of original though. I don't recall who made it either and I don't have the car or receipts for it any longer.

Update: I just looked at the pictures once I uploaded them and they don't show what I would call the robins egg blue that I see in person. Maybe Mister Pontiac can show us a picture of his aqua/black

Yes, the first two are of my 72 Vert that has not been touched in the trunk. The 3rd picture is of my 68 trunk that also hasn't been touched. Also as Mister Pontiac suggested, send a PM to 'ol Pinion head, he probably has seen many of these trunks
