Cool, let us know what the bathtub does!

One of the guys on my 409 board picked up the Sherman stroked 348 for a pretty decent price from him.

10.25 Steve. My heads are 65 CC heads that Dave did back in april of 2004 and were 260 CFM.Sent them to him to open up for the 455 and do a 290 CNC program to them.He did the intake at the same time.It is a 62 421 SD intake I bought at Norwalk for $50 as some one had cut it up to try and fit late heads.Dave port matched it and welded the bottoms of the ports to match.Used a KRE water X over. The engine is really made up of bargin priced stuff I bought from PY memebers and stuff I had laying around.Joe did not like the couple threads of the spark plugs sticking into the CC,which I guess is the result of taking the 65 CCs to 85 CC.Tom

Sorry Tom, for not seeing the CR mentioned at first. Are you running similar valve spring pressure as the other hyd roller with solid lifters with 200lbs on the seat ?

I bet +50hp on the bathtub. Did you cut the water crossover off it?

Do you have any pics you can post up of the engine and manifold mods done?

yes Steve,200 on the seats.Chris.The single 4 has a KRE X over and the bathtub is all welded like a factory with a X over from a alu 66 tripower intake.Looks 100 percent original. It was run on these heads when I had them on my alu block in my 63 lemans.Tom

455 with a 3"x4.21 Ohio forging
Did you have some 1/8" thick bearing spacers made for the block?

Ever thought about throwing some sideways Holleys on the dual quad intake?

One of my biology grad student tech assistants in college in 72 was a Pontiac nut, he had an old bathtub intake he put on his car (64 GTO) one weekend (I was still an '09 addict then). It was a cool intake. I can still remember hearing the reverb echo when we hit bumps!

His name was Phil Baumann for any of you Dallas folks that might have known him.

Tom check that block casting number for us

Nope I have NEW SR one I bought off a guy I could use if yours is still together at that much HP! Actually the block I used for my RAIV 400 was one of those 557s and rev'd 7000 with heavy Crower billet rods, TRW pistons with 250 gm pins! Only around 400hp and hasn't been magged.
