There have been a number of people recently who sign up to the board and immediately start sending private messages (there have been three of them just today). The PMs are responses to parts wanted, and they typically tell you their 'friend' has the part and to contact them at some email address off the board. Don't respond to them, they are scammers - if you do send them money you'll never see the part or your money again. We try to catch them before they have a chance to do any damage, but it's a game of Whack-A-Mole trying to keep up. If you get a PM from one of these people, ignore it and report them ASAP.

Be smart.
Only deal with well-established PY members and it’s safest to pay using a service that offers recourse for a deal gone bad. Paying using Zelle for example is the same as sending an electronic check with absolutely zero chance of recovery if something goes wrong. |
