Default Air compressor

HOw do I know if a car air compressor is any good, I know it is something about bein able to spin the pulley. Going to pick some parts up tomorrow and he has a compressor I need. He said the system held pressure but unsure of compressor. Thanks

"Air compressor" or AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) compressor?

An A/C compressor is going to be very difficult to assess unless you can run it.

Rebuilt A/C compressors are so inexpensive--and come with a warranty--that it pretty much doesn't make sense to use a "take-off" compressor.
