I have a 1980 turbo pace car close to finishing restoration
Question any one have experience in interior black trim spray paint I re sprayed or dyed many interior parts they look great SEM paint / but i am at a loss for the correct black radio bezel and lower what would be map pocket ( turbo light Plastic holder) I painted the radio plastic bezel and lower turbo bezel flat black looked too flat and satin black too shiny I found one online reproduction part / looks great but would love to spray and keep original anyway the lower turbo light bezel is not reproduced AS Always Thanks Again |

Those are molded in color, not painted so might be hard to match the color. But a good thing to try is the landeu black from SEM followed by their low luster clear, it will provide a better sheen than semi or flat black and adds a layer of protection for any of these interior parts that are painted.

I believe the radio bezel is actually dark gray. It's a different, specific GM part number than the regular ones. I might be able to dig up the number or if you have the assembly manual it's in there. I realized after I had a couple bezels with different numbers as well as the turbo cassette radio and wondered why.

1980 indy pace car radio bezels are the same black with chrome trim as other 2nd gen TA's from everything Ive seen or any pics of these cars on the internet. There may be different part #'s over the years for changes in dash radio sizes or other changes of part numbers... but they should be black, not grey.
