Default First trip out in 63!

Well, after pulling the 4cyl out just before Thanksgiving and doing a boat load of work...I was able to take it up the road to a friends house.
He’s a Pontiac fan (7 GTOs) and the car drew a crowd! With 2 purple hornies behind the strokes 400 I quickly realized how bad I need full exhaust, but it was worth it!
I’ll be driveway by it to Adirondack Nationals in a couple of weeks

Do the newer V8's bolt right in?

Did you need to install new rear frame rails to install the ladder bar?

I boxed and welded a 2”x2” square section to the subframe rails where the drive shaft hoop and front of ladder bar would bolt too.
Tom S on this forum is a great resource on motor mount options, I’ve done two of these cars and fabricated my own mount for the x-member and then used stock motor mounts .

Hope that helps

Nice piece of work! I would be interested in a shot of how the ladder bars are mounted to the cross member? John
