Had a Charger R/T for a couple of years - did 77K miles in it before I traded it on my latest car (I do a lot of miles for my business).

It was a great car - I never had to have anything done to it other than regular oil changes and tire rotations. It was ideal for the type of driving I do (mostly highway) as it was big, comfortable, and surprisingly quick. Some folks thought I was crazy living in Central PA and driving a RWD V8, but I bought a set of 18 inch wheels and snow tires and had no problems getting where I needed to go.

I would have possibly replaced it with a new R/T but they are no longer available with the 'standard' facia and bumpers. I traded it a couple of months ago on a 2020 WRX. Now that's a contrast!

Hope you enjoy the Scat Pack!

Here's my 2016 SRT 392. I like it a lot. I really wanted a hellcat but they are still expensive and the insurance was way more than this one. Same car as a hellcat without the supercharger.

Default Black Charger in Picture

Pontiacstogo, what year was your black Charger? I like the understated look.

Thanks - Kevin

Somebodys market research is wrong.

I would love to see the Helliphant Dodge was talking about. 200 HP.

The New Charger is Home! The dealer Delivered it today after we spent yesterday afternoon clearing up paperwork.

This is the 1st car I ever bought without opening the Hood before! The Functional hood scoop is kinda a joke, it is open to the engine compartment, but just lets cool air in around the engine, has nothing to do with the air inlet to the engine.

I thought those hoods had ducting that went over the airbox, like this one--
Is that a mod or a different year, perhaps? Seems like it'd be easy for the factory to have it dump cold air into the airbox.

Very nice...time to edit your signature! I was on the fence between a ZL1 and Charger Hellcat...I bought the ZL1, and it's terrific, but every time I have to pack up the car for a weekend trip I regret the decision.

Jeff, that is sweet. Don't waste money on a cold air intake either. They just suck hot air off the radiator. The Hellcat charger has a tube that goes to the snorkel in the grill. That seems the best thing for getting cold air into airbox. Also have to change the airbox to the Hellcat one for tube to work.
The one Ignaro posted is for the Challenger T/A, and is available over the counter but is $700. I have heard it fits charger hood with hood mods, and I have heard it doesn't fit at all.

Thanks Craig, I was looking at the Hellcat air intake mod the one that takes air in from the Grill, We may do that mod, and that is about it. My wife will drive it all year so my next purchase will be a set of wheel to mount the winter tires on.

So far her only complaint is that it rides rougher than the G8 did, other than that she loves it. So I will have to do some research to see if 18" wheels will clear the front brakes. If so I may go that way and get winter tires with a taller sidewall (to match the tire/wheel size of the stock set up) to help with the winter ride.

Looks nice Jeff. With the drop in gas prices up there it won't cost as much to run. My wire's grand daughter is up in Michigan, and she told her dad today she bought Regular gas for a buck a gallon. Premium shouldn't be too bad.

Jeff, The drag set up most guys are running are 18" front with 17" or 18"on rear with some sort of street slick. with the 17" or 18" rear, you need shorter sway bar links.

This is the best deal I have found on intake.

Thanks Craig, that is a good price on the intake, I will have to look and see what is actually installed on the car before pulling the trigger on it though. And it sounds like there are some 18" wheels that will fit with a little work.

As for Gas prices in the area, last week I paid $139 a gallon for 93 octane to fill up the Solstice, so yeah surprisingly low gas prices in our area.

I have heard people are keeping the yellow shipping guards on the front air dam. Are you keeping them on as well? I don't have a preference, but you could probably get over 100 dollars for them on e-bay if you wanted to.

We are keeping them on for a Month or two, my wife is paranoid about breaking the front spoiler on a parking lot curb until she gets used to parking it.

Took advantage of the nice weather yesterday, and pulled the Mallet Solstice out as my Wife wanted to compare the 2 newer Hotrods. Now she really thinks the Solstice is small, her trunk lid is only about 1" lower than the top on the Solstice.
