Default Removing trans from 69GP

I need to pull our th400 trans out of our 69GP that has headers. What are the odds I can pull it without loosening or removing 1 or both header???

Totally depends on the geometry of the headers.

First Guess: Not likely due to the width of the trans bellhousing where the torque converter dust pan attaches.

Cut the dust cover ears off the trans or loosen the headers.

Post 3 has the solution.

To drop it out let both headers dangle on there bolts as far as possible and loosen up the collectors bolts.

If you put anti-seize on at lease one side of your header gaskets then you should not have to replace them just tighten the bolts right back up.

Once out if you hacksaw off the unnecessary ears and casting ridge then at least the next if the trans needs to come out your use of curse words will be less.

I could pull the T400 on my 69 GTO without removing a header. I would pull it back a bit and put it at a angle going down and it rubbed against the headers. But I could get it out.
