Default FYI

A 950HP only flows 830 CFM you need a 1000 Hp for that engine combo. I am taking a 950 HP off now and changing to dominator on a similar combo. My carb is an AED modified 950 HO and it still only flows about 850 CFM and their 850 HO actually flows like 880 CFM, more than the 950 HO. The numbers from holley on the HP series carbs does not have anything to do with flowrate. Hope this helps. I bought my carb second hand and got a good deal is why I bought it but everyone including AED and Pro systems said I needed the 1000 HP carb.

Its not your job to provide information true or false about someones part for sale. You are interfering with a sale. Did you flow any of these carbs or are you just passing along second hand information?

Default Looks

i was in no way trying to interfere with the sale. I do have a flow sheet with my carb from AED and my 950 ho flows 845 cfm. Just trying to keep someone from being misled by holleys model numbers like I was. I thought my 950 ho modified by a reputable race carb builder would have flowed more than 950 cfm only to find out it was worked over to flow 845 from its original 830 rating. Sorry if I offended anyone in trying to keep people in the know.

Im surprised moderator hasn't deleted this.

Guy posts a carburetor rated at 950 CFM for sale, you decide to be hero of the Pontiac performance community and let it be known that Holley 950s do not flow 950CFM and a potential buyer do not buy this because he needs more CFM.

A Holley 950 does in fact flow 950 CFM, Holley does not inflate their CFM ratings, it all depends on the pressure drop used for testing. A 950 carb will probably flow 1500 CFM at 30" vacuum. I believe Holley uses 1.5".

Even so the difference between 845 and 950 is negligible on a carburetor and worse case scenario be slightly rich at max flow and could still be dealt with w air bleeds.
