i called in an order for some steering column parts a little past noon today and by late afternoon i received confirmation that the parts were shipping. my order was taken by jamie, he was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. i look forward to receiving the parts to complete a conversion to a tilt steering column on my 65 lemans.
thanks,

I had to order an additional part for the column swap, after reading complaining posts about excessive postage from Ames, I was pleasantly surprised that the small spring and plunger came in a small envelope.
I could not get the horn to work with the newly received parts so I called and talked to a tech at Ames, he walked me through the install and got the horn to work. I am sorry that I cannot recall what his name was.

Thanks,
Paul

It's awesome that you guys are doing what's best for the customers to save them money. I had to order a small wire from one of the two major electrical component sources and was charged over $10 to ship an piece of wire a foot and a half long with a couple of plastic connectors. I asked about putting it in a padded envelope to save some money and they said they only ship UPS so they can track shipments. I think they need to check, the USPS has tracking as well.

Default Rear Axle 66 GTO

ordered an axle nearly a year ago
R262 P 1966 to 1970 10 bolt
This Axle In the catalog page 266
nothing In the description about the axle being a universal fit axle.

1. the product description should say Universal fit Axle
2. nothing about a spacer in the product description

The 66 8.2 10 Bolt early model [ no clip]

OE Axle is 29 7/8" and the neck of wheel hub is 2 1/4" in

Replacement Axle from Ames
is 30" and the neck of the wheel hub is 1 1/4"

my Axle was shipped without spacer

I called about this And have received the spacer
