another mystery part
this panel was removed from my 65 lemans when i swapped engines, placed in a box and never re-installed when the new engine went in. i am thinking that it possibly bolts to a front fender well and the frame and acts like a shield, the car is an automatic. the 4 fasteners pictured were in the box.
car is in storage so i can't investigate if there are any holes in the wheel well or frame. thanks, paul |

Linkage Shield/Guard
Used on '66-'67 as well, DS.
Regardless of trans and many times mistakenly referred to as a starter guard. This is not so as my starter is on the PS

jeff, thanks for explaination and pics, great job.
now i have to decide if i want to install it or sell it, the lemans never sees snow so the part is probably useless to me unless i would the car to be more complete with the shield. |
