Default Six more finished, two to go!

Finishing the last two of this batch of eight VOE mufflers.. Getting good at them but the price of materials keeps them rather high dollar. But, other than the actuator, they are pretty much all 304 stainless steel.

Finally had the time to test these on my 340 Barracuda. I have my own 2.5" versions I run all the time so this car is used to them.

Note that these sound level readings will be higher on a 400 Pontiac with 2.25" tailpipes that are longer and have tips. Mine neck down to 2" right over the axle and I have no tips on them during testing.

All values are recorded at 10 feet from the tailpipes' outlet. Humidity is 66% and temperature is around 77 degrees F and wind is light here today in the KC, MO area.

Idle 750 rpm: valve is closed: 66.5 dBA; valve is open: 76 dBA
2200 rpm: valve is closed: 79 dBA; valve is open: 90 dBA
3500 rpm: valve is closed: 85 dBA; valve is open: 94 dBA

These are working and sounding like the others made in this batch. These are destined to be used on a 70 GTO but can't recall if it is a true VOE GTO or not.

Two more to go and I am finished!

Greetings, I built these eight for a special car and its owner. I am out of parts now and likely will not be doing anymore. They are very expensive due to the labor involved in welding and the price of 304 stainless steel internal parts as well as the cost of the custom made actuators.
