That's one of the newer Ferrari kits I've seen. I remember when they came out with the first kits when Fieros were still being built, it was the same model Ferrari that Tom Selleck drove on Magnum PI

I remember too when they were doing the 308 replicas, which weren't too bad looking. This one looks very well done, I seriously doubt you could build that car for the asking price (but then again that applies to most classic cars). Maybe get rid of the Ferrari badging and the fake looking intake through the glass.

Someone actually pulled it off. They made a Ferrari kit car that actually looks proportional, and somewhat real.

I built a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale Kit using a 3 litre V6 Peugeot 406 Coupe as the doner
Was very nice looking after I had finished and got lots of attention
The only thing I didn't do myself was paint her
I even did a replica engine for it
I always told people what it really was
I sold it because I bought my Firebird, and my 2 young kids can go out it it
Here are pics, if anyone is interested

Well executed, But I couldn't do it. No disrespect, but there's no hiding the much shorter wheel base and smaller dimensions overall. There's a heck of a lot of high end cars in this city: chances are you'll wind up next to an authentic example.

Nice looking car, but then the Fiero is a nice looking car.

When I see something like this, a couple of questions come to mind:

(1) What does Ferrari think of it???

(2) Would it be legal to drive?

I haven't checked the laws in several years, as I haven't the urge to do a conversion such as this; however: several years ago, I had access to a GTO front end, and a wrecked in front El Camino. Memory not as good as it could be, but think both were 1969's. In Missouri at the time, it could NOT have either Pontiac or Chevrolet badging. AND, it would have to be registered as a "home-built" in whatever year it was completed. If you don't think this is an issue, check with your insurance agent about insuring a "home-built"! You can probably insure a REAL Ferrari for less than the home-built!

Not throwing rocks at all. Like I mentioned earlier, nice looking car. But the costs are not only the sale price, and they continue forever.

Jon.

Jon.
Ferrari sued the crap out of a company called Mera.

Mera built a 308 out of a Fiero that was so close, the company even used some real 308 parts.

These Meras were sold by Pontiac dealers with full warranty.

kit conversions are not for me but these in this thread do look well executed.
When I was a kid I remember seeing those Bradly GT kits and I thought they were pretty cheap looking. then in the 80's there was those excaliber (?) conversions made from cougars and t birds that were pretty dumb too but to each their own right?
...and remember the "Vandetta" VW conversion advertisement in Car Craft? how about the '40 ford coupe VW conversion?
There's a Vandetta parked at an ice cream stand near me and my friend had a ford coupe conversion. My parents loved VW beetles. they were fun little buggy's.
I also remember someone had a 'Zimmer" (?). it looked like it could have been a kit but IDK.

I mean my impression of many of the folks that I know who own high end cars: they are just buying status and couldn't change a bicycle tire.

The Pontiac dealer I worked at was an "Authorized Dealer" for the early kits. They were TERRIBLE QUALITY and retained the stock 4-cyl or V-6 drivetrain. The guys would just cringe whenever a salesman managed to sell one because they knew they would be "comeback city" once delivered. This one pictured looks light years better and very nicely done from what I can see. Looks like they have come a long way in 30+ years.
