Default vintage photo thread...

How about a cool thread with old pics, say the 8O's and older. I realize that the 8O's may not be that old for some but, in fairness, there are many younger people here too.

Anything goes as long as it is old, can be Pontiac related but does not have to be, car related, family related, business, scenic areas, or just about anything for anybody who just likes to look at old pics.

Please, no recent pics of old stuff, just older pics.

Here is one of the M/T Pontiac dragsters from around 1961 with an unknown cylinder head with non siamesed exhaust ports and canted plugs!

This looks like a '4O Pontiac.

Then, take a guess who these 2 may be?

Toys, hobbies and advertisements too! Just anything to remember how things used to be.

How many here remember these? I do! For some reason, I always thought I was getting a package. I remember "Mike" our mailman, whenever he would see me coming to him, would say " sorry Steve, no packages today". My aunt worked for Aurora which manufactured model trains, slot cars and model kits. She would often send me stuff.

This one brings back good memories. I spent a ton of time and money in record stores. Also a great place to meet girls too. Still have all my vinyl.

There was a time, for many decades, that everyone had toy or scale model trains.
If they were not out all year in a layout, they would come out at Christmas time for sure.

Me in the summer of '73 on my Dad's '72 BSA 650-Lightning...these were some bad ass bikes for their day.

They were, and are correct. Crowds like noise, smoke and fire, etc. That is what puts people, spectators, in the stands and that is what makes money for track owners and promoters.

Now back to old pics. Who remembers who this is? hint, he was mentioned in the first 'Smokey and the Bandit"

Looks like a 2dr sedan. Pretty rare car, even when new. Almost extinct today.

more old pics

Christmas 1968. It was a good time to be a little kid. Totally oblivious to the racial tensions and Vietnam, etc of the day. My first Hot Wheels, still have most of my toys from childhood.
At the time, I thought the '68 GTO was the most beautiful car ever made. Still love them too and it is still one of the best cars ever made.

Yours truly in about 1957 on a '55 650 cc BSA Road Rocket. Note the stylish helmet. The other one is my Dad on the same day riding his '57 Sportster.

Here is a pic of Texan Eddie Hill with his lavender twin blown Pontiac slingshot. His mathing color '64 GTO is behind it. What a Life, huh?!

A dapper young man who sweet talked that pretty young girl into marrying him. I think they were taken in 1961 and 1962.
