Here is my 64 Tempest Convertible. Just finishing up the restoration. Car was originally white with blue interior, 326. Quarter panels were badly rusted, molding holes had been patched up incorrectly . Since the interior had already been redone to non-factory look and engine is now a 428, went for my choice of paint, medium wedgewood blue and really happy with the results. Of course we found some surprises in one front fender, some little holes in the trunk so new trunk panels too! Putting some heating/ acoustical pad now, cleaning up the engine compartment and hopefully will be done in a couple weeks and can drive it again!

Here is my '65 Post. Originally a 6 cyl 2 speed Tiger Gold car with a Gold interior. When I bought it in 1993, it had been changed to its present color and a 350 /350 trans was in it. Now it is a 1970 4 bolt 400 with a 428 Kellogg forged crank, KRE aluminum D ports, and a solid roller cam. The T-350 has been replaced with a T-400 with 3.73s in a 12 bolt. It's no show car, but it sounds good and goes like stink. Excuse the poor quaity pics. We took them on my wife's camera phone.

Default Nice.

Your 65 is looking good!,love the color as it looks close to the inferno red thats on my truck. It's a color thats had me thinking of using for my 65 whenever i can get to the point that paint is a urgent matter.Sweet changes sound good as you said it performs well.Curious if you done any chassis/suspensionchanges.Car looks just right as it sits.

dracowizard - we have the same ride! I love the 3 horizontal bars on the fenders. Did yours ever have the two chrome strips that go above and below the "PONTIAC" on the trunk panel? I have been looking for them for years. I like your slotted mags. As far as suspension mods, I have a PST front end kit, SSM lift bars out back with station wagon springs. I've got ET Streets on it to, but they still go up in smoke if I take off too fast. I'm going to get a set of drag-friendly springs for the front this fall.

Hey Koz,sounds as though you're setting the suspension so as to transfer weight to the rear of the car for some drag racing advantages.I just recieved a new PST catalog as i'm beginning to shop for pcs for my suspension setup.Mine never had the chrome strips,i've had many ask me if i did and was willing to sell them since i'll be restomoding the car.I've only one fender that has the bars as one is a replacement, but a gm fender. It's ironic of the color as i've tried to "picture" using the inferno red on my car.I love it on my truck. heres a pic just to compare to your car.

The PST kit was probably one of the best investments I made for driveability (Well, after the SSBC front disc brakes). After it was put in, it handled like a totally different car. Of course, my old bushings were probably from 1965...

Hi Guys,
You all have some really cool looking cars. Here's what I'm building. I still have a long way to go but it has come a long way since I first brought it home.

Wow, it sure cleaned up nicely!

Great find, and a 4-speed car to boot!

Is it a Tri-Power car?

I don't think it is a tri power. I need to do a phs history on it to be sure. I love how nice it drives down the road, nothiing like my 71.

Your car inspires me to get my '64 LeMans convertible project moving. Factory power windows, A/C and a '64 421 HO Tri-Power engine with 200-4R overdrive trans/3.36 posi rear.

More than likely I'll put a nice GTO hood and emblems on it too since GTOs are so sexy.

I have finally gotten my first 1964-67 A body. This 1965 LeMans coupe was also restored about 25 years ago. It's a very nice project that I still don't have an exact idea which way to go with yet. Lord willing, this winter I'll be putting my 462 and 12 bolt from the wagon in.
It still hasn't rolled over yet, 95,694 on the odometer. I can't wait to see what my wagon drivetrain will do in a car that's only 3000 lbs. or so!

As you can see in the next pic, it has incorrect upper rear back seat, and passenger side rear side panel. They're from a 66.....anybody have the correct stuff they would be willing to sell me?

The body is finally back on the frame,WooHoo. Starting to look like a car again. Pans and everything under are done. Painted the dash when I did the firewall, turned out good after rebuilding around the radio. Next step is taking apart the front clip and doing the core support and inner fenders. Once its running again, then Ill start on the bodywork. Not finding a lot to do on the body, driver side quarter behind wheel is the only replacement piece to put in.Using different d/s door and fender due to body damage(not rust). Windshield and rear window look great.
