Default Going to build one more...

It's been almost 15 years since my last Lamnas, and I'm not getting any younger, sooo....

Last year I found a rust-free '65 Lamnas near me for sale. PO had owned for maybe 5 years and had fun with it, but was time to go. If I'd been ready to buy a few years earlier, could've had a nicely restored Nightwatch Blue '65 GTO, but the timing wasn't right.

So I pulled the trigger on this one about a year ago....I'm not sure when the cloning was done...prior to the guy I bought it from, IIRC.

I made the deal for the car with no engine or trans....just a roller. It's rust-free and was a CA car until the PO bought it 6 years ago.

So, I found a virgin std bore 400 block recently disassembled and drug it home.
Going to poke it, stroke it, and try out a couple of new-ish HR cam lobes from CC

The car has never had a console in it...when I bought it there was a vintage B&M shifter which I didn't like and so I proceeded to rip it out. About the same time....I discovered the carpet was 1-piece and not fitted very well (how could it be?). Ripped that out too. Whatever tf they used for adhesive was VERY effective. It very nearly kicked my ass getting it pulled up.

So, I laid down some kill-mat and new carpet after figuring out where to locate the console and installed a dual gate shifter. I'm thinking I might have to pull the console out once more and put in a vacuum gauge.

I don't know how to rotate my pics once they upload.....I don't have 'em saved like that.

Looks like a fun project. You know I'm in because it's likely to have an ugly old Q-jet sitting on the engine when it finished.

The best part about that is when you are sitting at a car show, cruise-in, or staging lanes you can tell all the naysayers that are chuckling to themselves and pointing at your ugly carburetor to go look at the tail lights?

"What"they will respond. "Ya dude, go back and get yourself a really good look at those tail lights......because that's ALL you are going to see when we race!"........LOL.....

Old? Yes...Ugly? Probably....I need to get to polishing up those tail lights.
