This is the only reason I bought my place...3 bay commercial shop with a small house next to it I don't even call the house a house...it's a cabin..Just me and the cat so WTF..
The garage is built into a bank,1/2 in ground. Stays pretty warm even in VA winters and cool in the summers..Garage has lift,80 gal compressor, heat,AC,stereo, wired for cable,hot/cold water & slop sink but no bathroom... But has a old grease pit style floor drain..Even has it's own seperate electric service.
Rigth now the Kubota & John Deere occupy one bay....soon to change..

Mine's a tandem stall three car, front section is 24 x 22, rear section is 11 x 22, 11 ft. ceilings, radiant heat in the floor, attached to the new house we're building.

Still under construction, although the drywall and doors have been installed since these pics were taken.

Great stuff here. An inspiration to step up getting mine squared away inside.

After being forced into early "retirement" because of health issues, I had to downsize my living quarters a few years back. Now after working in that sad excuse for a garage under the master bedroom for a while, I was finally able to build a detached. No more complaints from the women about noise late at night or funky smells.

Hired an Amish crew to build the garage. Great workmanship & significantly cheaper than the other estimates. Some of the people I know are contractors & they couldn't beat the price. The Amish worked fast with no messing around. The jobsite was kept clean as a whistle. A far cry from what you would see from a "normal" construction crew.

We liked it so much that we hired one of the guys to build us a new composite (Evergrain) deck.

My garage is an addition on to an existing garge. Zoning didn't allow for detached garages over 720 sf, and also require that the volume of the second floor has to be 50% or less than the first floor volume. Probably to prevent big garages with in law suites. So, I added a 1 car bay with walk up storage to a 2 car garage.
