I just happened to google image of 70-73 firebird . The picture of the burning firebird came up, click on it and this site came up so on page three the same picture came up again , if you click on it they comment on it debating if it is a 70 or 71 or whatever year they think it is, some comments are pretty funny , one guy even said those cars had problem reaching 100 mph , now that is pretty funny I know because I hit 145 mph in mine. if you click on the pictures you see all the comments , some are pretty funny

Congratulations! I remember you had a thread on this car. You should post an update with the information about the title and any new information you have.

It's one of the movie cars,I think that it's the only survivor from filming. It's a d port car not a SD.The licence plates that it had in the movie are still with it.If you watch the movie there is one shot of the car with all 4 wheels off the ground and a good view of the plate.

A number of them show up in Adam 12 episodes as well -- don't see any on the site.

If you click on the 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am near the bottom, there's a picture of the car Andy's talking about.

Sorry that I did'nt answer more questions about the McQ car, I was in a hurry the other day and did'nt see most of them.I think that the car is vey savable but the front sheet metal is in rough condition,The interior needs all of the usual restoration, the power train is there but needs rebuilt but there is very little rust.
The first time I saw the car it was in Roslyn Wa. around 1987,it was covered with about 8' of snow sitting next to a red 70 R/A III formula. My brother in law was trying to buy the T/A from his cousin and I wanted the formula to go with my 70 T/A.I was told that his cousin had got the T/A from the trade school that the car was donated to after filming.
Today the car is sitting in a large farm building south of town waiting it's turn to be worked on.I don't think that the car will ever be worth the cost of resoration but if it is done it will have a good story to tell.
