I was watching Emergency on Me TV on broadcast TV right after I got home from work today. A movie crew was shooting a chase scene where two guys in a 70-73 Firebird were being chased by another car.

The Firebird flipped and was laying upside down on concrete steps in front of a large building with two guys trapped inside. Some bozo tried to cut them out with a torch before the rescue squad arrived and caught the car on fire.

There was another Emergency episode with an accident scene where a 70-73 Firebird ran over a guy and trapped him under the vehicle. There are a lot of old cars on that show.

This print shows a few of the cars being discussed here. I won it as a door prize at an all firebird show in Atlanta. Mark Haynes Art.COM

Fly away little birdie fly!!

Me thinks that's what happened to my '73, maybe higher because I had broken springs front & rear when I bought it

Must have had one of those quickie, made for TV paint jobs - everything is brown including the door handles, locks, window trim, emblems, grills, headlight bezels & side pipes!

The studio garage had to spray over all of the black paint that was on the car when it was used for the movie Corvette Summer.

Exclamation Before SUVs

Remember when cars like this - IIRC Gran Fury Wagon(?) - were common in driveways and on the streets?

And to think of all of the mothers who were shorter than 5 feet tall piloting these 440 cid monsters around town...full of kids, grocerys, etc.
(Another McQ movie image.)

My mom drove a '68 Fury III Sports Satellite wagon. Just had the 383 4bbl. but it would really get up and move for a big barge!

The new Elton John movie has a mint 70-72 Lucerne Blue T/A in it.

About halfway through movie - it is parked in front of the mansion - during a big party at the mansion.
Bernie Taupin pulls into the party driving a Mustang Convertible and parks behind the T/A. So only a few seconds of glory for the T/A.

Saw it the other night on DVD

I am actually glad you brought it up. I am going to put the 76 ‘Cannonball’ stripe on my red TA clone and would be interested to see if anyone had pics of that car?
