Default Ram Air III resto

Everthing is new. Sent #8273 out for rebuild yesterday. M21/3.90 rebuilt. I went with black interior. I'll post more as events progress.

I need a show quality (affordable?) alternator re-builder. Any good leads?

My convertible was built the second week of february in Arlington.
My VIN ends in 140776. How close is your VIN to that number? Perhaps they went down the line together.

Is this the car out of Illinois? I remember hearing a rumor of a RA-III GTO convert from a friend of a friend and looking at it in a barn in Pecatonica probably 6 or 8 years ago. Guy also had a '63 GP. I got the PHS but couldn't pull the trigger.

Nice to see it get a proper resto. I love black/red best but the purist in me woulda went back to Verdoro/ black.

I'm color blind on green, so I may not see the color for what it is? Plus, I've just had to many Verdoro green cars, as most of have, I'm sure...but yes, It came from Illinois. Was sent there from Arlington and stayed there. Owner's name was Dave. If you look to the begging pix, you see the barn.

My VIN ends in 138865. I don't know how close they were to each other coming down the line, but my rubber hit the ground first lol

We use Hite Auto in Columbus, OH. They have rebuilt all of our distributors, carbs, water pumps and alternators for years. 614-272-5115.

It's getting scary real...I've never taken a car this far apart and put it back together this far...I've had over 100 GTO's, most just to flip but you'd think I'd have done one to this point. Usually, I have to sell before it was finished. My money comes and goes like the tide Funds aren't an issue right now. This thing could actually drive !

Only issue at this point is, Parts Place exhaust head pipe on driver's is too long and tailpipe hits the differential.

Option A, Have my buddy at his shop cut and mig 3" out.
Option B, wait on Parts Place and jump through loops for them, proving that their jig wasn't right that day and that I'm just getting to putting on the exhaust (over a year, after pruchase).

Did I mention that I already clamped the muffler to the head pipe! If I have my Buddy cuts and welds, promise not to tell anybody

Chassis looks very very nice! If you are striving for correctness, please note that the alternator fan on a 69 should be silver cad plated like your alternator pulley. Nice work!

Default RA III resto

I know...but I bought it restored as is. I'm not sure I feel like messing with it at this point, plus it adds a little extra (incorrect ) color under the hood. Maybe a winter job when I've got nothing else to do

Default Frame done...FINALLY !

I've got to sand blast the underside of the trunk pan and paint it. Maybe a day or two and the body should be back on frame. I forgot how time consuming and what an effort the frame was. Glad that's over !
