Question SHOW and TELL; GM ST-200 Analyzer

Picked up local and just for grins will restore. We know it has no real value but it will be a neat piece of Garage Art.

We have confirmed the part in question IS part of this unit but have no idea what it is for?

My best guess is that this adjustable rod is used to hold accelerator pedal at a certain RPM while testing is being conducted.

The first 3 pictures are of the part. It is aprox 18" with an adjustable rod also about 18", shown with adjusting wheel with the outer tip slightly pointed.
There is no numbered scale on the rod for adjustments.
The "stationary" end has an aprox 4"x 6" curved "Plate"

This again IMO could be used to rest against the seat bottom while the tech adjust the wheel/rod out to pin the pedal at desired RPM range.

Any past GM tech here recall this part?

Cheers.

So far the internal electronics are in amazing condition, still to be tested.

This is what it should look like once done;

I knew I seen that before. Tried to find the tool but haven't found it yet.
Did find the diagnostic center though.

Cool

Well it came out pretty decent and all electronics are in working order.
A few leads will need to be repaired/replaced and one needle also needs to be replaced.

Anyone know of a possible source?

Looks good! Maybe contact Pete Serio at Precision Pontiac, he's on the forums here & restores automotive gauges. If he can't repair it he may know where you can take it to.

Jeff,

Sometimes I have had to VERY carefully get the movement out and glue a small diameter wire to what's left of the needle and paint it red.

Finding another movement at this late date is gonna be a crap shoot. Not impossible, I have a couple of NOS meters in the box, no use for them, will gladly send them to you if you are brave enough.

Charles
