Crush sleeve length
Planning on putting together a 4:33 rear end for my 68 Cat. Rock auto shows 4 different lengths. Would like to order and have parts necessary before tearing apart the proposed rear end. Does anyone know what the correct length is ?

It should be determined by the diff. cover (10 bolt or 12 bolt) and the ring gear diameter (8.25, 8.50) rather than the final drive ratio. You will need approx. 300-400 ft lbs of torque to establish the "crush" of the sleeve, then you will use an inch lb. torque wrench to set the backlash or "drag" on the pinion yoke, without the carrier or axles installed.

All the 68 full size cars had a 10 bolt cover with a 12 bolt ring gear. And they all used the same dimension sleeve, was just hoping someone out there had a sleeve laying around from a 65-69 full size they could measure for me. Thanks for your reply, sorry I wasn't more clear.
