Default 69FB Sprint

Rough and the motor doesn't look right. Someone should ask for the block numbers.

ETA: No "SPRINT" call outs on the rockers.

The car has been messed with.

Standard steering wheel w/ deluxe seat belts
No Sprint call outs or holes in panels
No power steering which 69 Sprints had (at least mine does)
No steering cooler obviously
Shifter is not Hurst and has a biggo stick with square port (looks standard)

I would NOT trust this ad/car/seller unless he posted pictures of the block code and PHS docs.

Power Steering and cooler is not part of the Sprint package as far as I know. Power Steering was optional and depending on the rear ratio, got the cooler. Not sure about the steering wheel/seat belt situation for the 69s, but my 67 Sprint came with the ugly base wheel and has the optional deluxe seat belts. (retractors)

Mine had that wheel, even though interior was Custom trim TR218.
Call-out badges - either rocker trim was replaced, or engine/manifold was added.
Seat belts had several options, all separate from any other option groups.
Power steering was optional. Cooler was dependent on axle ratio. My car was manual steering with power disc brakes.
Shifter looks right, just like the original on my car. Round, flat spot for HURST, black knob.

Conveniently the seller is not taking questions. I call BS on this car unless the seller can verify PHS docs or at minimum a block code.

Odds are whoever buys this will put in a V8 and ditch the L6.

I agree several thing under the hood are incorect, the shifter looks just like the stock one on my 69 3-speed sprint. The carb is incorrect, either a 66-67 sprint carb, or more likely a chevy style Q-jet. That explains the choke linkage being odd. The oil tower fill cap is the aftermarket style used on 48 state 66 and 67 cars. Missing the aircleaner assembly is a major problem for me. And almost always makes me thing the manifold has been changed over on a 1bbl car. There always seems to be intake and exhaust manifolds available, rarely seen are the correct carbs or aircleaners.

I would have to see better pic;s of the engine compartment to make any more comments,

As said Powere steering was always an option on Sprints, and my standard gear ratio (3.55's) car did not come with a power steering cooler. Was it a 3,90 and 4,11 thing?

Power steering cooler would be standard on a 3.55 rear on a 69 Firebird. I think also 3.36. For factual info, look in Factory Service Manual. They're all in there.

Thats odd, My car was bought from the original owner, and it showed no signs of ever having a P/S cooler. and it did come with 3.55 gears. Odd.
