Nice GP. My 72 Grand Prix had the same single snorkle air cleaner. It was a YS standard 400-4bbl.

Did '69s come standard with power disc brakes? It's not on the options list but it has 'em. Car is very original and only has 78k miles so I am doubting that a PO converted it.
May have been ordered by someone in the military and was shipped or intended to be shipped overseas? I know a gentlenman here that ordered his '70 Judge that way and his doc's showed the same "G.M. Overseas Distributors Corp.".

Early built 69's could have been ordered without front discs, they became standard equipment later on. The manual drum brake cars came with 14 x 6 wheels and was another oddity on these cars.

Air cleaner is 100% correct for the standard 400 4bbl engine. HD air cleaner option used a different filter, housings were the same. The 428 cars had the larger single snorkel. Here's pics of both on two low mileage cars.

Matt check out the thread relating to my 69 for paint markings and tags if it [your car] still has them for a 323 geared car.

How about servicing the diff with fresh oil since it is probably original anyway and just look at the gears

No dual snorkle until 70 not even 428 HO
Rear blower type exhaust was option as well as wire window rear defrost.
Drum brakes were availabe on GP, standard but exquisitely rare.

Looking on the order form:
331 power assist group-auto trans, PS and pdb. (most gp auto trans...)
511 power disc brakes front

Nice ride call me when you want to sell it!!!!!!! (And I'll talk you out of selling it)

BTW, remember Matt that 69-72 GPs multiply in the driveway. Sort of like rabbits. Soon you'll have more!!!

Matt, nice car ! You will fall in love with it if you haven't already.

If anyone is interested in my H.O. air cleaner (like the one in Keith's pic) it's just collecting dust in my rafters .Maybe trade for something ?

Default pics of (wrong) carb

So, I removed the very leaky power steering pump yesterday for either repair or replacement, not sure which right now.

While I was there I snapped some pics of the carb... a Holley. I will post the carb numbers later.

I also found the likely source of the major off-idle stumble: the pass side rear two bolts between intake and head are GONE!

That Holley looks like an economiser. Find an OE quad and replace it!

Where was the pump leaking from? I would try new seals first to keep it original to the car.

Ditto!... find a good Q-Jet to put back on there along with a new steel line from pump to carb.

Yikes, that Holley's gotta go.. it just hurts to see it just sitting there like that.. A valve cover and intake repaint and Qjet would be gorgeous

Coming soon, gents. I have the 'numbers' carb for this car...I just need to go thru it.

Upon further inspection, the pump seems to be leaking from the O-Ring. I will probably rehab this one and hopefully I didn't wreck it on the ride home (whereby I ran the pump nearly dry).
