Yeah, I apologize. 2" as Charles says.

When they get squashed over 53 years of time they seem larger than what they really are.

Check out the picture I posted of the mounts all laid out, it’s easy to see they’re all the same diameter.

Yep I checked. I still haven't done the swap as the original bolts kit from Ames is on back order. I refuse to get them from any place else.... especially OPG.

I've been driving the GTO, and as long as I keep 30#s of air in the airbags all is good... so far.

Thought I would throw in a few related old bits;

The bolt kit Ames sells is from AMK. You could just order directly from them. $33. I've bought several different bolt kits from Ames, all of them have been from AMK.

I used Ames (bolts) for my 68. But they didn't supply the short bolt for the #3 position. Had to reuse my original.

For those seeking originality, I have found that the colors of the upper bushings seem to be dependent upon assembly plant. I had painted the upper bushings with what I thought (at the time) were the correct colors. But with so many examples on the web each with their own paint scheme it was confusing to say the least. So I dug out my old bushings and looked a little more carefully. What I found was all the upper bushings were black, but all the lower bushings (donuts) were at one time painted lavender. This was a Fremont car built on an A body assembly line. All the original bushings with the exception of the rears had TEMP molded into them. The rears had CHEVROLET and a Chevrolet part number. This is also noted in the service manual. The red paint shown is overspray from the car body.

Inline Tube is the only vendor I know of that goes into this level of detailing.
