Default 60-62 thin 8 lug trim ring question.

Looks to me like putting the balancing weights on the outside of the rim might cause a problem with these narrow trim rings. Do most put the weights on the inside of the rim? Thx 4 any feedback....RA

GM did them on both sides. I also did it that way on my '62 GP. FYI: Those trim rings are pretty much a 1 time use so make certain to line up your valve stem notch. Once they are installed you pretty much destroy them trying to take them off.

For cosmetic reasons it would be better to only put them on the inside, but there's no functional reason you can't put them on the outside - they will clear the trim rings.

Did you see Diamond back makes the HR-75-14 tires for these wheels now.. You can get them with plain sides too like the old tires..

This is the first I've heard of those: https://dbtires.com/product/auburn-premium/ Diameter of the HR78-14 is 27.5", tread width is 5.5", section width is 8.3", fits 5" to 7" wide wheels, load capacity is 1764 lbs/tire. Price is $199/each for blackwalls, $249/each for whitewall, redline, goldline or blueline.

At 27.5", the diameter is roughly equivalent to an old 8.00-14, or a modern 225/75R14.
