Nice car. Even upside down. That is the color I was looking for when I found this one. 72 GS 350. I'm a member on the v8Buick.com board if I can help in any way.

Interesting that it has the mounting pad for a passenger side mirror. Up until a month ago, those were highly valued items ($1,000 or so though I may be high) if it was correct(tri-shield logo in the corner of the back of the mirror). The Parts Place starting repoping them and so they may have dropped considerably. Early reviews are that it is a decent part from TPP.
Interesting that they put the GSX spoiler on there. See post #8 in this thread to determine who to order Buick factory information from: http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads...wl-tag.349501/

So how does the 446 on the trim tag compare to the 4 44 in the VIN example on post #3 ?
Is one a GS and the other a GSX ? |

444 would be a Skylark Custom, the 446 shows it to be a GS. Silver Mist paint, white vinyl top, with a pearl white interior.

The 70 GSX was only available in two flavors. Saturn Yellow, and Apollo White.

Seeing as how I still can’t join v8 Buick (argh) I’ll ask you guys-
From what I understand the GS could come with different HP level 455’s, correct? If so,Is there any way to find out what a particular car came with?

I’ll write to the owner of the site for you.
There were two GS models: - GS with 350/315 - GS 455 with 455/350 or Stage 1 There are some tell-tale signs but prob an automatic would help as I think the 4-speed was identical for both. There is a document service but I am not sure which year is missing. Rich Johns on this site knows all about these cars....will try to give him a heads-up. |

On the latter part, I did look at this numbers matching but likely less desirable color car on Thursday. It sold for a hammer price of $41 on Friday. https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0919-38...ck-gs-stage-1/ You should be able to sell the Chevy drivetrain parts to recoup some of the investment. It is definitely a project but as you note not a complete basket case. As some at the v8Buick site will complain, non-numbers matching Buicks even if Stage 1s, etc. seem to take a bigger hit than other makes. Even done right and it is a Stage 1 IMHO you are looking at a high 30s - low 40s car. Done right to me is back to original color and interior and option load with a Buick 455 put back in it. Just one person's opinion. I do this math all the time for my GS455 vert project.

Thanks Diego! Just tried logging in over there and it works. Yeah, for some reason I’m not getting any of his E-mails. I even checked my junk inbox.
