Is your car a 400 or 455?

If it is a 400 automatic, a 7041264 is correct. Also, your #96 heads would be correct too and likely be dated coded close to the block. Carbs are julian dated so if your day range is correct, you would want 1470 to 2370.

If you car is a 455 automatic then your carb would be 7041262 and the heads would need to be #66

The 7041263 carb is for a 71 4-speed GTO/Firbird and are somewhat scarce and desirable.

the 96 heads are dated April not August the block is dated H250 , we know the heads got swap because the guy put high compression head at one time in early seventies and then try to switch back, but loss the original heads. Right now the carb is a 7041263 which is wrong because its not a stick car. I remember this car bought new when I was 10 or 11 year old / my cousin bought it new. Now that said what carb and date should it have, because of the block being build in the seventy of August

The car is a 400 automatic and came with 3.55, so that being said I need 7041264 with date code 1470 to 2370 that what I'm looking for.

Would a date code of a D1 be good for you. D1 is April 1971.

Are you also looking for the #96 heads too?

just trying to help;
1471 = 27th of May, 1971
2371 = 25th August, 1971

So that looks to be VERY close... but about a month earlier than the OP was ideally looking for.

Except the block was cast Aug 70. Those carb dates are a year too late.

hmm;
I seemed to have missed the date corrections posted earlier.

Being an early built car, I am wondering if the car's build date might be more relevant than the block casting date...
Granted the history of the car seems known, but I wonder if posting the cowl tag build date might help the community deduce the most accurate build date range for this car's carb....

Carter & Rochestor both made 7041264's... have had quite a few.

my old inventory logbook shows:
a 2150 dated Rochestor and an
H0 (Aug'70) dated Carter, both early prod run "1264"s.

Will ck tomorrow eve, know have several of these.
