My '64 Grand Prix is about to go in for body and paint. Besides all the window, trunk, etc. weather stripping, I'll be replacing most of the gaskets that go between the various head light, tail light and reverse light housings/trims once reassembly starts after the car is done with paint.

I don't believe any of these gaskets are reproduced (at least I haven't found them from our Host). Most of them are either soft, gummy butyl rubber or are the rubber like in window weather stripping. Anything that is rubber like in a window weather stripping on my car is stiff as a board or just crumbles when I touch it. Does anyone know of a place to find reproduction gaskets like these? Are strips of the soft, gummy butyl rubber available in different thicknesses and widths where cut it and make my own?

Check with Rich Plastino at CPR. He is big on repop parts for heap big injuns.

I haven't used this yet but was going to get some and see if it'd work around my tail lights. I even thought about plumbers putty, it's waterproof, cheap, and easy to use.

Thank you for the replies! I'll reach out to Rich at CPR if he has anything and that gasket material available on Ebay looks promising. It looks similar to what I have for my tail lights.

Hmmm.....

Pontiac used a "C" channel style rubber gasket. What is on Ebay looks more like a stick-on weatherstrip.

I have purchased closed cell foam from McMaster-Carr and made my own. Did that recently to make the gasket for the heater duct to the firewall. It is available in various thicknesses and some choice of actual material. Takes a very sharp knife and a bit of patience.
