You do realize that the T/A bezel is silver and the Formula is woodgrain...

I believe I have one. I sold the last one for major $. Would likely need refinishing by Randy Coombs.

Dusty but otherwise in nice shape. Correct for a 70-72. Have an extremely nice 73ish version also. Message me for more pics

from where I am sitting that looks like a 1970 insert, but it could be lighting, and the dust doesn't help.
Many people don't realize that the grain type changed every model year for the first several years - later in the second gen run the grain was used for two or more years. In the following picture the inserts are (from top to bottom): 1971 1971 1970 1972 (keep in mind the above picture has been lightened up with either a flash or a photo program) The 1972 dash inserts are the darkest - they normally looks like a nice deep dark brown; The 1971 dash inserts have an almost bleached effect; The 1970 dash inserts have a lighter brown. Finding Pontiac literature that spells out the wood type from year to year is something I really would like to find - because I suspect that a given model year used the same grain style for all models, not just the Firebirds. @ GRD777 if you were thinking of going to a TA dash, very few know the differences, and getting a 73-74 dash insert would be much cheaper than a 70-72; Going to a 75-79 or 80-81 dash inert would be exponentially cheaper. (all 1970-1979 dash inserts have an arrow shaped opening for the signal indicator with a green translucent cap on the signal spot inside the gauge cluster; in 1980 the opening on the dash insert changed to a round one, the translucent green caps on the signal tubes inside the gauge cluster went away, and the arrow was printed on the new green translucent strip which was now affixed to the back of the dash insert.)

*DISCLAIMER*
This is my opinion. To answer your question, that's tough - but a good picture; The trouble is lighting can really give a different impression depending on how the picture is presented. But, between the grain pattern, and contrast of the graining, I am going to guess 1972. With 1971's, the bleached effect is normally easy to spot. With 1970's the graining pattern is generally more smoothed, and the colouring amongst the graining is more alike, which tends to soften the appearance of the colouring. I also think that for some reason the 1970's are more prone to peeling or delaminating.
