Default Best way to sell engines/ blocks, heads ,ect

I've accumulated a bit of Pontiac engines over the years. Looking to move some things to make space. I can have the parts run through a shop , baked, blasted & checked. wondering if thats worth the effort/ expense vs leaving them as is. AS - is means powerwashed & oiled. Blocks are bare/ gutted with caps & some have cranks. Most if not all are std bore w/ no visible cracks/ issues.

These are mostly mid-late 70s, 577, 400 blocks from big cars, grandma's wangon , ect. Probably around 6 or so. Also have shelves of heads with 6x & basic heads .

Depends on how much money you want to ask for them, or how much you expect to get for them.

People will pay more for a block that's been cleaned and checked, but you're paying to get that done too so it's a matter of cost vs reward.

I will pay more if somethings been checked/verified by a shop. Why not advertise here on the forum or the North jersey Craigslist.

Sell local. Shipping is a pita. Fastenal has covid restrictions as do others.

Cost to clean, blast & check via local machine shop is 350+/- per block. Figured I'll advertise these as a cost per block and then offer the service at the additional cost.

99% of the blocks and engines I have bought and sold over the years where not cleaned or Checked. If you have a high dollar engine it’s worth the time and money but not for a mid 70’s big car engine. I’m doing a 70 455 4bolt now I got unchecked and dirty I have $800.00 for it.

If its common-issue stuff, sell it as is. For rare, high dollar stuff, that you want top dollar for.... disassemble, clean, and magnaflux, with the accompanying paperwork. I'd gamble with $200, but not $2000, to boil it down.

Yep.

I can't see putting any money into 557 blocks being worth it. I wouldn't buy one as long as earlier blocks are still available regardless of how clean and checked out it is.
