Default Belt squeeking P/S pump

I just replaced the pulleys and the belts. I am still getting a squeak on the P/S pump.
After 3K rpm's.

Replace the pump?
If so, what one?
Driving me nuts.

What pulleys and what belts? OE pulleys or aftermarket? What fan and clutch?
Are you sure everything is correct and lines up? Sometimes it's actually squalling on the water pump pulley. Are you sure the belt is slipping at the PS pump?

Make sure the PS belt is not too narrow and riding down in the bottom of the pulley groove. Should only contact the sides of the groove.

One factor that is very common is people use an A/C water pump pulley and a lower pulley wo the A/C pulley behind it. You can't eyeball the amount it's off, but it is.

Also, once a belt glazes, it's toast. It will never grab right. If it's squealed once before, replace it. That too you can't really eyeball, and no spray or sanding will fix a belt.

Pulleys can wear out, and those too, nothing will fix, you just have to replace them. You didn't say what the condition or type of pulleys you used. Post part numbers if OE.

I took off the P/S belt to see what one it is. Alt is quiet.
For years I ran a March polished set of pulley's no issues. Then it started to squeak.

I replaced the belts - then replaced the pulley and belts from summit.

Now, still noisy on a shiny sets of pulleys. And before I buy a new set of belts again.....I come to the experts.
Stupid question - they make more narrow belts?
My theory was the pump was slowing down - causing everything to struggle.

Yes, 15 and 17 series belts, if you go by Dayco part numbers.

Is the PS pump going bad maybe? Maybe flush it?

This is probably a stupid question but are you sure about belt tension? I had a squeal on the T/A recently and couldn't see anything wrong with the belts or pulleys. Then I decided that one of the belts might be a bit loose so I tightened it up to match the other belt and the squeal went away.

I also recently had a problem with this, going from factory brackets to aftermarket. My brand new PS belt screamed even when tight. The fix was a thicker belt. If you buy a 15000 length belt from two different MFGs one might be 3/8ths and another might be 7/16ths in width on the spine. I switched to a Dayco Top Cog that had the 7/16th back and it was fine after that.

Basically I just had to switch part stores which carried the different brand.

Belt tension is the first thing I would check. When I was racing my t/a it wanted to squeal on hard passes I put synthetic fluid in it and it went away ran it like that for years.

I have tightened and loosen the belts. I tried the easy stuff first.
The width sizes, I am confused on.
I took some pics.

Any and all guidance on sizes and alignment that you can see. Thanks.
Silly problem to have, but I like hearing the Tripower, not the belts.

For the sizes we are talking about you are going to have to go to the MFGs website. As I mentioned I found when I had this problem that a belt of the same diameter from two different companies would have a different width.

You also just might try a different belt company period. I gotta think all v belts are not created equally. There is also the possibility that you already glazed it. I know others have said that once the belt has been squeeling for a while its compromised. So you might have better luck with a brand new one.

Can we tell from the size of the pic I posted what size they are? And what width?
What do I need different?
I will get new belts and a different manufacturer.

Try Goodyear Gatorback belts. I think I bought them at O'Reillys. Solved the squealing problem on my El Camino.
