Quarter Patch panels
Hi guy’s,
Are quarter panel patch panels available for 70-72 A BODY cars? (Not skins) I checked PY, Yearone, Goodmark, but didn’t find any. Last edited by 70 Lemans; 07-10-2007 at 06:54 PM. |

Quarter Patch panels 1970 -1972 A Body Lemans GTO
Anyone have info on this? There are a couple of patch panels on my car that were braised in. Should I cut the braised panels out or should I do the body work over them? They do seem decent but I think I can do better with my new mig welder.
All help appreciated as always. |

At a minimum, you should get rid of the brass. Over time filler will seperate from the brass, causing blisters and other problems. Brass was commonly used in the body repair business up until the early to mid 80's. I find it very often on restorations that I do, and I always eliminate it.

Thanks for the info I thought this might be the case but did almost take a short cut.
Pay me now or pay me later. What about patch panels do they make them for a 70 72 A Body? Thanks again. |

I got the skins from PY.I just cut the pieces off that I needed.I also used a new way attaching them.I used quarter panel Epoxy,or structual adhesive.Worked great,no welding,no warping, can't rust from the cut edges since the are in the epoxy.Just a thought. The epoxy and gun ran me about 70 bucks.
