Default Standard Gear Ratio 4-speed

Can someone please clarify for me the standard gear ratio for a 4-speed, non air, 4bb car? The original brochure isn't clear to me. I thought it was 3:55.

Also would a 1966 complete rear drum to drum assembly be a direct bolt in on a 1965?
Thanks

1966 and later rear axle housings are 1" wider vs the 64/65 Housings.
Most will still bolt in with no issues unless you had some Tire/Wheels that were close to rubbing the rear wheel housings with the earlier rear axle.

This is a link to the 1965 Pontiac Performance brochure: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/stati...rmance-16.html It appears to indicate the standard rear axle ratio for a four barrel, four speed car was 3.23:1. 3.55:1 was standard for a 360hp tripower car.

It’s funny (strange). I can’t connect to the link on my I-phone. I tried on my laptop and it came right up.
