We were keeping the rpm under 8000 with the 4.5 stroke. Did the Grocery Getter weigh over 4000lbs?

No, it was just a tick over 3000#. I guess I have no idea what your cars weighs. Sorry for that confusion.

just an FYI the guy that helped us tune our deal -- one of the best around at the time really liked the longer stroke easier to build boost he said -- BBC 632s run all day at 8k with a 4.75 stroke crank -- so --- go for it

Wow! I had no idea it was that heavy. I know it has a tremendous chassis structure, but I never would have guessed that race weight. You are making allot of torque and HP to move that beast! Think about this: Your car may close to double the weight of the Kauffman dragster.

I like looking at things from different angles like that. The Raven can probably make close to three times the power also. I often show a novice the 1/8 mile MPH and compare it to current 0-60 times of performance cars today. It helps folks relate to how fast our cars are.

Lol my father in-law didn't understand things until i put thing in terms of 0-125mph in 5sec. Then he seemed to sort of understand is Mercedes wasn't that impressive to me.

What about DCI, I'm sure Don knows his heads better then anyone else?

Jim Robertson has a very good relationship with Don at DCI and has ported Don's heads for people over the years, with Don's blessing.

Plus I believe the current set of heads on the Raven were previously ported by Jim Robertson.

Ask the Raven guys about that deal George. I was in the Trailer when they talked to Jim Robertson years ago about him doing some heads for them.

Yes we are making good progress on new port size/configurations. New seat work, guides, porting and Ti valves should help the Raven make a bit more steam.
For the record I have not seen or worked these heads and intake before but am looking forward to the opportunity to work on this extremely high quality engine/car build.
Stay tuned...

This composite gear was run for ~1.5 seasons driving a titan oil pump, It did look a bit chewed up. I will admit, the cam gear was not dressed prior to installation.

What about DCI not porting you’re heads?

Hey George,

Don mildly ported the intake and heads when purchased. I had no plans on making any head changes besides increasing the intake valve size during what started out as a 2020 "refresh". At this point we were making ~1,828.07 flywheel HP based on the Wallace Racing calc at ~26.3lb boost. I do speak with Don and Jim as well as a few others regularly. While talking with Jim a few weeks ago I mentioned there were some major delays on short block parts and machine work, knowing that we want to really turn it up this year, he said send the top end down to him and he'll see what he could do to help out while turning around the parts in a very short time frame.

Btw, Jim recently also did a set of pump gas e-heads for Mike's 66 GTO "The Lunatic" that made 721hp.

Hey Curt,

No room for a dry sump at this time. Current target AFR is 11.8, at full throttle the O2 datalogs shows that AFR varies on both banks from 11.5 to 12.1
