Mike, that’s the car that Cameron and her dad, Mike, were telling us about last year. They finally finished it. It looked amazing in Regatta Blue with the stripes. It is a California low miles car that Mike bought from the family of the original owner. They added the spoiler and factory Ram Air components. Cameron did most of the body work and paint prep herself. She even painted her nails to match it using some of the PPG paint they used to paint the car.

Her prestige license plate says “CAMULA” for Cam’s Formula, and instead of Ram Air on the hood scoops it says Cam Air. Pretty clever.

On the way back from Tipp City, she lost the driver side front tire due to loose lug nuts. Apparently in the rush to get it finished, they were only finger tight on that wheel. She maintained control and the damage was minor. All were safe!

Here are some more pictures.

I almost added something about a potty-mouthed young girl after posting. I remember the progress pictures from last year. It looks good. Too bad about the wheel, at least she was actually going at a safe speed.

Mike - I don’t think that was necessary. I struggle with discretion as well at times, but step away from the keyboard with this BS. We have happily welcomed Cam and her dad into our circle of friends and their backs are well covered.

Couldn’t agree more Bob. Cameron and her Dad and Mom are dear friends and will continue to be. So thankful she wasn’t hurt.

Sorry, Bob, but no BS. First impressions are rememberable. And, I still get after my daughter for her fowl language.

I’ve known her for two years and don’t believe I have ever heard a foul word from her. You’ve met her once and are ready to impugn her integrity. I love you Mike, but you need to temper your enthusiasm. Go after someone with a wrong aircleaner or decal, but leave this girl alone.

Some very cool cars- sorry I missed it.

Love the Cam Air- nicely done car you don’t see very often. Hate to hear about the wheel- a mistake I know I have made myself.

Cruiser- sh!tty spot indeed. I don’t think I would have stayed. I would love to see pics of the wide body- do you have a build thread?

I made several expensive upgrades to my car new windshield, new interior door panels, new and rear plastic panels & replaced several pieces of crumbling trim pieces. My car looks very nice I have entered it in 3 central Ohio car shows & it has always received a plaque or trophy in each show. So it is a nice looking car. However at the Trans Am nationals you are treated like a red headed stepchild with leprosy if you car has very many alterations from stock.
I was afraid this would happen again like last year. I was placed in the very back of the car lot . I thought it couldn't get worse. I was WAY wrong. This year I was placed at the very end corner of the far lot beside some huge storage containers & several Non Pontiac/street cars. The only worse place would have been on the other side of the fence along the freeway I was only a few feet away from that.
I didn't care if my car did anything in the show .I enjoy talking to people. However Saturday I sat by my car for 5-6 hours & only really had 2-3 people come over to talk to me about my car. The way my car was placed I wasn't really a part of the show. I have attended this show many years I started attending in 1989-90 with my dad. This car was a car my Dad owned and built in 1989 & I did all of the paint & body work at home by myself. It was a huge disappointment to me.
So I guess my advice is to anyone with a modified Trans Am or Firebird to leave it at home. Or park in the guest parking lot because your spot will be just as good. My wife drove her C-6 Corvette & it was parked closer to the action in the guest parking lot. So Sunday Morning I just loaded up around 10:00 & headed Home. Here are some pictures of the "Show Parking Space" they provided Me.
The last picture is a view from my corner of the lot at the rest of the show.
I am sorry to read you were treated like this. Next time I would just park with the others where your year cars are parked. You spend a lot of money on your car and a lot to attend this event, I would never let someone tell me I need to park between a storage container and a daily driver not part of the show.

I have been to shows where I didn't like where I was parked so I moved to a better location after the "parking people" were gone..

I was going to put this show on my bucket list but after reading your post, I will continue to go to Norwalk and not waste time going here.

I would suggest you go yourself and try it out. I have been going since 93. I have taken both modded and stock cars, 11 different cars overall during this time, and have never had a bad experience. I have seen many people over the years get completely bent out of shape over a plastic trophy. I get that some people are into that, but I go to enjoy my car and talk to other people that share the same interest. If you like birds, this is THE show.
