Default 67 Reclining Seats with Headrest

Does anyone have experience taking 68 or 69 reclining seats and converting them to 67? Few of the questions I have.

- is the standard 67 release in the same location and the same style as 68 or 69 reclining seats?

- does the 67 steel back and side trim mount at the same points as the 68 or 69 plastic backs and trim?

- will the 67 reproduction headrest and hardware attach to a 68 or 69 frame without modification to the seat back frame? If not what modification is needed?

- anything else I should know about this modification in advance?

Have been looking for a pair of 67 reclining seats for a while now and anytime I find a set the seller is not willing to ship or they are sky high compared to 68 or 69 seats.

Thanks in advance to everyone that replies. Zack

69 seatback release is in the center, not on the side.

For 69 and later models that have the reclining passenger seat option, the button is on the side like the 67-68 seats.

The reclining seat and headrests in a 67 GTO are definitely a conversation starter.

They are the same seats as the Rivieras. The Rivieras use different tracks. The seat backs and seat pattern are different, but the cores are the same if you plan to put new seat covers on. The headrest reclining seats are common in the Rivieras. I got a pair for my 66 for 500.00 out of a 66 Riviera. The seat tracks from the regular GTO buckets bolt right up.
