66 sprint motor WTB
I bought a original paint 1966 sprint convertible, very clean car worth getting back on the road with sprint motor . No oil pressure , don't think it has original block but everything else in intact. Looking for rebuilt motor, correct block, someone to rebuild? looking for some options. Thank You

WELCOME
Sounds like a fun project.
I had a '66 Tempest Drop-Top Sprint many many years ago. I would suggest you confirm engine first. If your not aware here are the Casting numbers used on '66 blocks, found on passenger side of block; 9782, 9783, 9784. (Example of '67 shown below) Here are the Engine Letter Codes for '66, found on block deck just behind oil fill tube; ZK, ZF, ZS w/MT. ZN, ZG, ZM w/AT 66’ 1BC ZD w/MT. ZE w/AT 66’ 4BC (Example of a MT '66 shown below) If the engine is correct for the car I would investigate deeper to determine what is wrong. Oh and We love pictures!

There was one in the Georgia craigslist ads last week. Or maybe it was Facebook marketplace. Can't remember which.

66 Sprint convert 4 Spd
I looked and have a ZE motor in it now, looking for a ZD. Taking the head off and rebuilding might solve the problem but ultimately would love a fresh rebuilt ZD motor. I will try and send pics next week as I am heading to the muscle car corvette nationals!

So you do have the correct engine. Need a fresh one? You can always try Jasper.
But you will find the only way to have a fresh one is to build a fresh one.

I believe that the bottom ends are the same for a 1 barrel or a 4 barrel engine. I see a lot of 1 barrel engines in good condition that were removed just to throw a SBC Chevy in a good car. If your head is good and you have the 4BC intake, etc., then I would consider going that route. Good luck.
