Default 66 a/c lap vents

While cleaning and detailing my 2 lap vents, it appears that the center vane is satin black on top and bottom, but upper and lower vanes are chrome on top and bottom(see attached photo) Is that correct?

I have no idea if it's correct but I can kind of see the logic. The top and bottom vanes would be more visible when adjusted fully up or down whereas the mid vane is covered by one or the other of the top or bottom vanes.

Terry, pretty sure you're right as I have had vents with the black.
