Power Window Kits
Has anyone used the Power Window Conversion kit from our sponsor? Any comments to its quality (fit, function)? Anything not included that you needed?
Will be adding power windows to a 67 Conv in the next month or so. Trying to decide if I should go with an orginal and tested OEM set-up or an aftermarket conversion kit. Anyone that has been down this road before have any suggestions? Things to do or not do? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and replies. |

I saw the Ames kit and also wondered on how well it worked. Years ago we located a '65 Buick Skylark with power windows in a pick-a-part and stripped everything off of it to convert one of our '67 GTO's. Worked excellent for the next 25 years until I sold the car in a weak moment, but do remember that even back then we had to replace several rollers that were already going bad. Wonder how much slop and play the old systems offered for sale now have in them?
My blue '67 has manual windows and I really miss the convenience of just hitting the buttons to get all four windows up without having to pull over and reach across the car to crank them.

I purchased the Nu-Relics kit for a 69 Firebird along with the upgraded nostalgic correct switches and they work quite well in my opinion. They are an easy install and very adjustable. The instructions were clear and detailed. 69 is a unique deal so there were a couple interior door shell items to address but not a big deal. I like them and have been pleased thus far.
