OK, I know we are only loosely on-topic here.. But when I started work at Pioneer Honda in Anchorage, Alaska and started doing the low-book work like oil changes and finding rattles I was amazed by one thing to do with the oil changes. We had the typical 55gallon drum and funnel arrangement for the old oil. Turns out, the owner of the dealership heats the place with an oil-fired furnace. His fuel? The used customer oil from oil changes. I thought that was pretty neat!

On the newer GM cars with the filter up under the hood, NEVER start the engine with the cap off of the filter. It will be like an oil well gusher, even if it's only 1/2 a quart!
