Default Fresh out of Paint 1967 GTO H.O. “Silverglaze “

It’s been a long time coming but finally got my 67 H.O. painted. What a beautiful color “Silverglaze “ is! I never would exspect it to have so much metallic in the paint!

Really cool to see this. I am working on my 67 GTO which should be headed for paint soon and it was originally Silverglaze with a black painted top. Has been blue since around 1976 and blue since I bought it in 1988. I have decided to not paint the top black and I chose a different shade of silver (Lexus Liquid Silver)

I have only seen a couple of silverglaze GTOs in person and it is a very unique color to say the least. In fact when I pulled the fenders off the car on disassembly the original color was there.

Good luck with the project!

very nice.

No more leaning on the car, or putting anything on it.

enjoy the process

Great choice on the Silver from Lexus & Toyota , I have a 67 2 dr post car being Painted with PPG Lexus & Toyota Atomic Silver Met next month PPG also has an Orion Silver similar to HOC but this shade is nicer. I saw 2 cars side by side at the SEMA show 2 years.

AH!! Interesting choice, you'll have to post up pics.

I was really torn on the color as I always liked the Silverglaze, but the Atomic Silver is somewhat similar by being a bit darker so all the chrome still stands out, but the color really pops and flops.

Default PPG products

Musclcah I went with All PPG products. They stand behind there products. We’ve been using them for decades. They have great color matches and original paint codes. There product holds up for years. We’ve painted cars that have sit outside for decades with minor blemishes . Great product with a great warranty.

I did something similar on our 70 LeMans. Went with a Mercedes silver ranger than the Pallidium silver. I’m happy with it, if it were a more desirable car (GTO) I would have probably stayed with the original color

Maybe they should make a Silverglaze or silver GTO sticky. The Silverglaze color the OP posted (and I certainly don't mean to hijack the thread) I found to be a little harder to find good pictures of. IT is truly a great color and I have seen it in person. In fact the outer portion of my cowl/firewall is still the original color and we have decided to leave it hidden behind the fenders.

MrGreen, when you get a chance to roll your GTO out into the sun you will have to post more pics!

Cool Thinking about selling my 67

I’m debating should I sale my 67 GTO H.O. Car to purchase another 69 Judge? The Judge needs to be assembled and finish up the paint. Has all new interior, rebuilt Ram Air III motor, and fully restored frame. What do you guys think? What is a fair asking price? The market is way over priced. I wouldn’t ask Barrett-Jackson price but where should I start? I’d like to finish the car then sale it but. The Judge may not be there long enough to wait. So I’d be forced to sale the car before it’s completed inside and out. Leaving a tough decision on the table. I know it would bring less money being it’s not completed. So fellow Pontiacers what do you think? Needing some input.

Default Last task to finish up the 67 GTO

The last things needed is to purchase a interior kit have it installed. Purchase a console for the 4-speed. I’m waiting on the last of the chrome to come in. Then I will install it. These are the last steps to completion.

I think you are dreaming if you think you can sell an unfinished car quickly enough to buy another more desirable car. On the other hand, that is just my opinion. Good luck.

I think you can sell it- the car looks amazing. But- i think your going to take a significant hit on it.
