Step two: Promise huge return on investment to investors. Step 3: Find everyone making 75K or more in salary and fire them. Step 4: Find Chinese vendors who can functionally copy the product line and produce product for 10-15% of current costs. Step 5: Sell inferior product for same price as previous production and live off the name for 5-10 years. Step 6: Sell off shell of what's left of the companies. Step 7. Move on to next victim. Conglomerate business in action.

That would definitely cut their cost of doing business when compared to Southern CA.

According to one of my contacts at Comp, they have moved Edelbrock's warehousing & shipping to the Comp facility. Since Comp is more centrally located, that should help with east coast shipment.

Comp's press release: http://www.cpgnation.com/industrial-...2kE3wXeZeNYIE4

Comp's Racing Head Services (RHS) may get a boost out of this, having access to Edelbrock's foundry.

Kinda blows. So Cal used to be the center of drag racing and manufacturing. It is like Crower pulling out and going to Kentucky. It all started there.
Yeah I know, our state policy's suck.

If you live in a state unfriendly towards businesses this is going to happen.

But they are very friendly to illegals ! We had a place that manufactured heavy equipment buckets in my home town. Moved to Idaho.
But we are building a giant 3 story building for homeless vets.
I just feel so lucky to have a NHRA 1/4 mile drag strip 20 minutes from my house. Its the 2nd oldest one in the country. Now here were 5 in CA. Sacramento's last year from what I hear.
There were only 5 in Ca, now only 4. In the place that started drag racing, sad.

You know that movie The Worlds Fastest Indian ? Actually all that happened right here in Humboldt County. There was a motorcycle shop 2 blocks from my old house that helped him out. Changed it for the movie.

Another chapter to the saga...this time Edelbrock divesting itself of a product line that the investment partners didn't want.

Mike Thermos is a great guy. This is good news for anybody using Edelbrock nitrous stuff..

Didn't they get another nitrous company as part of Comp purchase?

Yes, ZEX nitrous systems.

Mike Thermos is the right guy to be running a nitrous company... I think most of us have heard of NOS, right?
I'm glad he's still running his own company after selling NOS off.

And so the "Brain Drain" begins as I predicted in post #3. Sell off the entire nitrous division of Edelbrock, mostly run by experienced former NOS employees with lots of experience and knowledge. See $$$$. Keep the fly by night nitrous company with the trendy name and cheap employees. Edelbrock got rid of their chief engineer, Rick Roberts, a brilliant man with a doctorate in engineering from Cal Tech and 30 years of experience and loyalty to Edelbrock around the time of the PRI show. Other experienced people making above minimum wage were let go as well. Have to make the balance sheet look good for the investors. This is how these investment groups ruin good companies, good products and good people. Edelbrock and soon enough Holley are effectively ruined. It's a damn shame.
